OUR ISRAELI CONNECTION

Upsurge in Terrorist Attacks
Jerusalem, March 23 – The Israel Project reports: The last few days have seen a new upsurge in deadly terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians. In Jerusalem, a bomb set in the busiest part of the city killed a 59-year-old woman and injured dozens more. This was the first terrorist bombing in the Israeli capital for four years, but it comes at a time when the Palestinians have walked away from the peace process and are refusing to return. Two weeks ago, Palestinian terrorists slaughtered an Israeli family of five, including three children, in their beds. And, in their schools they continue to teach their children to hate Israel and Jews. Meanwhile terrorists in Gaza, armed and financed by Iran, have fired over 80 rockets and mortars at civilians in southern Israel since last Saturday, including two military-grade Grad missiles at the city of Beersheba. One person, a 56-year old man, was injured by flying debris when the second Grad rocket exploded. Citizens had to rush into shelters and authorities canceled school for Thursday.

Jerusalem and Israel Can Expect More Bloodshed
Earl Cox reports: “This morning’s [Wednesday] bomb blast in Jerusalem, Israel, which occurred at a crowded bus stop across from the convention center, is another example of the cowardly methods used by radical Islam to terrorize and murder innocent men, women and children,” said Cox.  “This horrific act is another clear example of what the people of Israel can expect if they succumb to pressure from the international community to surrender more of their land for a Palestinian State.  Shrinking Israel’s borders to accommodate a Palestinian State will serve only to open the door even wider for more barbaric acts of terror by radical Muslim extremists who place absolutely no value on human life.”  Cox went on to say, “Gaza is a prime example of the sort of undesirable neighbors the Palestinians make and to even consider giving these people a part of Jerusalem is absurd and insane.”

Jewish Cemetery Desecrated
Jerusalem Prayer Team reports: My heart broke this week when I read the news of the desecration of the Jewish cemetery on top of the Mount of Olives. It is in this ancient cemetery, believed to date back to Bible times, that my dear old friend Menachem Begin and his wife are buried… Many of the tombstones have been smashed, litter is strewn around, and tethered donkeys defecate on top of graves. Jewish visitors to the cemetery are being attacked with stones on a regular basis. Palestinians are using tombstones for goals in their soccer games. There are even reports of firebombs being thrown to destroy the graves.

IT’S NEWS TO ME

CAIR Kissed Up to Ghadafi for Funds
GrassTopsUSA reports that Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), asked Muammar Gaddafi to underwrite CAIR’s efforts in the United States during a September 2009 audience with the Libyan dictator. According to an account of the meeting in a Libyan news website, Awad was joined by two other leading CAIR officials in praising Gaddafi’s leadership and asking him to help underwrite a program to distribute 1 million copies of the Quran to government officials and the general public in America and to help start up a new foundation Awad was trying to launch.

A Mid-East Perspective on Libya
Jerusalem Prayer Team reports: Throughout the New Testament, God warns us not to be deceived. It is the cry of Jesus, “Watch out that you are not deceived.” (Luke 21:8) The fighting in Libya is part of this deception. Yes, it is true that Gadhafi is an evil, ruthless, madman, murderer, and dictator; but the intelligence community in the Middle East is very aware that one of the largest contingencies of terrorists that has gone into Iraq and Afghanistan to fight the U.S. military has come from Libya. Much of the group perceived to be young students only wanting democracy are radical Islamic terrorists and even al-Qaeda.

The justification for this attack was to assist with humanitarian aid. This is outrageous when millions of people are starving in Africa, especially in Darfur … and the world remains silent. If this attack was about stopping an evil dictator who is killing his people, why did the world not attack Iran and its nuclear installations?

Separating the Hope from the Hype
In my Tuesday edition we’ll take a closer look at the nonsense coming from the media’s spin machines regatding events in the Middle-East.
