This issue looks at why the Obama-Netanyahu meeting ended poorly, the global warming meltdown, the deplorable treatment of Navy SEALs for capturing a terrorist and the possible ties to the rescue of Captain Phillips of the Maersk Alabama, as well as a writing tip for eliminating unnecessary words.

OUR ISRAELI CONNECTION

Earl Cox reports
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. President Barack Obama two weeks ago at the White House. Strangely, however, and with no explanation, the scheduled post-meeting press conference was cancelled. Of course, we wondered why. One possible reason could be that the White House has reached a secret understanding with the Palestinian Authority for an independent Palestinian State in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Following the Obama/Netanyahu meeting, Israel's Ha'aretz newspaper quoted a Palestinian official who declared that the Obama Administration “has largely adopted the position of Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to create a Palestinian state within two years, based on the 1967 borders.”

In the White House meeting, Netanyahu reportedly requested that the U.S. tell Fayyad that they (the

U.S.) would not support his proposal. According to several news sources that included WorldNetDaily, however, Netanyahu did not receive a positive response. One can now understand why the Obama/Netanyahu meeting ended on a silent note rather than with a news conference at the White House.

IT’S NEWS TO ME

GrassTopsUSA reports
The biggest story of the year is the exposure of e-mail demonstrating that the claims put forth by the United Nations IPCC and others about global warming is based on fraudulent data.  Many of us “skeptics” and “deniers” have been pointing at the sun, and saying, “See, it's the sun that determines how warm or cool the earth is. See it? Up there in the sky?” Now the truth about some of the scientists behind the global warming hoax has finally arrived.

The hoax has its roots in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an instrument of the United Nations Environmental Program. Global warming was the open sesame to achieving a one-world-government by scaring nations into signing a treaty that would control their use of energy, the means of producing it, and require vast billions to be sent to less developed nations in exchange for “emitting” greenhouse gases.

Human Events reports
The military is throwing the book at three terrorist-hunting Navy SEALs who captured one of the most wanted in Iraq–Ahmed Hashim Abed, who, according to intelligence reports, planned the bloody ambush of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah, Iraq, five years ago. Instead of plaudits, three SEALs face court-martial in January. The March 2004 Fallujah atrocity was a turning point in the war. The four Blackwater agents died in a hale of gunfire and grenades. Insurgents then burned the bodies and dragged them through town. Two were hung from a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world media to see.

Abed was nabbed in darkness Sept. 3 by a platoon of commandos from SEAL Team 10, based in Norfolk. The SEALS took him to an Iraqi police station to enter the country's judicial system. But when the higher-ups were notified, they told the sailors to get him back. He was too valuable. After hours of negotiations, the Iraqis gave him back and Abed ended up in a cell inside the U.S.-secured Green Zone.

Sometime along the way Abed alleged he was punched and showed a bloody lip to prove it. The SEALs were sent packing back to Norfolk. They will be arraigned next Monday and face separate special courts-martial. Three other SEALs — two officers and an enlisted man — in the unit have given statements as witnesses. According to one statement obtained by Fox, the SEAL told investigators he looked in on the detainee and did not see any injuries.

Now that the Obama Administration has decided to play along with terrorists who demand an undeserved show-trial in New York City, terrorists know exactly how to exploit for their own benefit military regulations as well as civilian law.

An Insider's view
A military insider with knowledge of what really transpired during the rescue of Captain Phillips of the Maersk Alabama last April alleges that the treatment of the SEALs in the previous article was retaliation for  “insubordination” in the Maersk Alabama episode. As it turns out, the only orders President Obama gave as Commander in Chief prevented the Seals from taking any effective action. When the snipers had their one opportunity to take down the gun-toting pirates, the commander on the scene gave the order to take them out. While the White House took credit for the successful mission, the success came despite the “help” from Washington.

Big Brother Advances
A program proposed at the University of Minnesota would result in required examinations of teacher candidates on “white privilege” as well as “remedial re-education” for those who hold the “wrong” views, according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.

WRITING TIPS

Watch for the word “that.”
Many times, “that” can be eliminated altogether.
