This issue looks at the relationship between Barack Obama and God’s Judgment.

SINCE YOU ASKED
For those who know the Word of God, it’s easy to get very angry with our President. His agenda clearly runs counter to the will of God. I have tried to show how he is purposely destroying our economy, our free-market system, and even our families. Every day he gives us new reasons to want him out of office as soon as possible. Yet, those who know God’s Word also know that it is God Who establishes and removes kings (Daniel 2:21). When you consider the whole counsel of Scripture, the state of our nation, and the state of the Church, you can come to only one conclusion: God is using Barack Obama to bring judgment upon our once great nation. Just as He used Sennacherib of Assyria and Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon against Israel, He is bringing judgment upon America.

I don’t want to get into the sins of our nation. It would take too long to cover them all. Let’s focus on the American churches. Unfortunately, the list of sins isn’t here is just as bad. We’ve got denominations ordaining homosexuals and following the permissiveness of the culture instead of the Word of God. We’ve got millions of church-going people living just like “the world.” We’ve got an epidemic of people playing church, thinking that if they just go to church once a week, they’ve earned enough points with God that He’ll leave them alone until next Sunday. We’ve got denominations that have bought into Replacement Theology, believing that the Church has replaced Israel. Through some very twisted and perverted thinking, they believe that God is done with Israel and has transferred all His covenant blessings to the Church. Considering how important Israel is to God, this belief by itself is enough to warrant God’s wrath.

AS I SEE IT
We (as a nation) are indeed reaping what we have sown. We have elected corrupt and evil leaders. We have supported mass infanticide. We have told God He is no longer welcome. When evil has flourished, the churches (with a few exceptions) have been silent. And just as the Church was silent when Hitler was trying to eradicate every one of God’s chosen people, it is silent as the world is currently coming against Israel from every side with unprecedented rage and accusations.

I am convinced that if we as a nation and as members of the Church were focusing on the reasons for the judgment instead of the person through whom the judgment is coming, God would be more inclined to hear our prayers. Throughout history, God has shown that when His people finally learn their lesson, repent, and change their ways, God deals with their oppressive and evil leaders. Every wicked king through whom judgment came to Israel eventually incurred God’s wrath for his own wickedness.

We are to pray for our leaders (1Timothy 2:2) but we should be careful how we pray. God only hears prayers that are in accordance with His will, so we must at least try to understand what He is doing. We are at an unprecedented place in our history- on the verge of total collapse. We are being attacked from without and from within. How many more chances do we think God is going to give us? He has pleaded with us, yelled at us, and shaken us. Yet, as soon as the danger seems to be easing, it’s right back to life as usual. If we don’t wake up from our spiritual coma, we can no longer expect God’s hand of protection over our nation. Lost people think and act like lost people, and Barack Obama is as lost (spiritually) as an Easter egg. Children of God have the power to change and will be held accountable when they refuse to do so.
