This issue looks at the Feasts of the Lord, the latest on the Palestinian vote, the latest Muslim Brotherhood’s call for death of Zionists, more U.S. embracing of the MB, Secretary Clinton’s denial of an Israeli Jerusalem, and Israel’s agreeing to Quartet’s timetable while Palestinian leaders remain defiant.

Jewish Fall Feasts Have Begun

Passover Seder

The Jewish Fall feasts have begun. They are:
• Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets)on Sept. 29
• Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) on Oct. 8.
• Sukkoth (Tabernacles) on Oct 13-19
Yeshua (Jesus) fulfilled the Spring feasts at His First Coming.
He was executed at Passover, rose three days later on the day of the first wave offering (Firstfruits), and poured His Spirit into the hearts of believers for the first time on Pentecost. He will fulfill the Fall feasts at His Second Coming. A description of all the feasts and their meaning can be found in The Israeli Connection, which will also be available on Kindles for $2.99 starting Oct. 10, 2011.

Reports from the Jerusalem Prayer Team:
The European Parliament has unanimously voted for a declaration of support for the creation of a Palestinian state. The move is just one more tightening of the screws against Israel. As the Security Council continues to discuss the resolution for Palestinian statehood, only one more member vote is needed for approval. Both Columbia and Bosnia/Herzegovena are being heavily lobbied by the Palestinians, backed with Arab oil billions, for their votes. Normally a Security Council vote on a statehood declaration would be processed in approximately one month. This contentious issue may take longer, but we could well be less than thirty days away from a vote on Palestinian statehood.

The Palestinian people have no option except violent struggle against Israel, according to top Hamas official Khaled Mashaal. “Palestinians must resort to resistance no matter how costly it is, until Palestine is free and Israel is destroyed,” Mashaal said at a conference in Teheran this past weekend.

Making clear what is usually kept hidden, a key member of the Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki, said in an Al-Jazeera interview that the proposal to force Israel to give up the so-called West Bank, the Bible lands of Judea and Samaria, would bring Israel to its doom. He described the creation of a Palestinian state as simply the first step toward the overall goal of completely eliminating the nation of Israel.

Dr. Salah Sultan, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood (the group the Obama Administration regards as a legitimate part of the Egyptian political process), issued a call for mass murder recently on Al-Jazeera television. He called for the “death of every Zionist who enters Egypt.”

IT’S NEWS TO ME

US Diplomats Met with Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood
David Zauber reports: Reports surfaced over the weekend that US officials have held meetings with members of the Egyptian political party formed by the Muslim Brotherhood. A senior US diplomat confirmed the meetings, adding that it was in Washington’s interest to be in touch with every potential actor on the Egyptian scene, even if it was not on friendly terms. Brotherhood officials however, denied that any meetings had occurred.

Clinton Denies Validity of Jerusalem
The Israel Project reports: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court arguing that judicial recognition of an American citizen’s birthplace of Jerusalem as part of Israel could harm the peace process. “The status of the city of Jerusalem is one of the most sensitive and longstanding disputes in the Arab-Israeli conflict,” government attorneys on behalf of Clinton wrote in the brief, contending that U.S. policy leaves the issue “to be decided by negotiations between the relevant parties within the peace process.”

At a press conference with the Egyptian Foreign Minister on Wednesday, she called on the rest of the world to “put pressure” on Israel to give in to the demands of the Obama Administration and the Quartet for Middle East Peace and make the concessions needed to restart peace talks. “There is no alternative,” she declared.

[As of 10/7] Israel’s government has formally agreed to the timeline laid out by the Quartet for Middle East Peace in their latest plan which requires direct peace talks to resume by October 23. The US says the Palestinians have agreed to the plan as well, although the Palestinians have not yet publicly stated their willingness to talk unless Israel first meets their pre-conditions.

Obama Promises PA Statehood after 2012 Elections
WorldNetDaily reports: The Obama administration told the Palestinian Authority it cannot significantly help advance a Palestinian state until after the 2012 presidential elections, a top PA official told WND. The official, however, said the U.S. will press for a Palestinian state quickly if President Obama is re-elected. Read more.
