Is what is called “Radical Islam” really radical or just basic Islam?
IT’S WORTH CONSIDERING
Throughout the news media, the actions of al-Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS, and any othermuslim terrorists group falling into the “terrorist” category are routinely labeled as the work of Islamic radicals, radical extremists, or jihadists. Individuals like Nidal Hassan (Ft. Hood massacre) or Alton Nolen (recent beheading at Oklahoma food processing center) are labeled as unstable, deranged, and unrepresentative of true Islam. Islam, they say, is a peaceful religion at heart, and it is unfortunate that fringe lunatics give the religion a bad name. The Obama administration leads the charge to make sure that the “purity” of Islam is not tainted by misrepresentations and uninformed people who don’t know the truth.

beheadingWell, the truth is that groups like ISIS aren’t doing anything that isn’t commanded in the Qur’an. The brutal, barbaric savages we see in news clips and on YouTube are simply taking their religion seriously. They are carrying out the very clear mandates of their holy book. Far from being radical, they are actually representatives of the real Islam. They are acting out the commands of Mohammed, no more, no less, and every Muslim who has bothered to read the Qur’an knows that. Consider these verses from the Qur’an:

Kill them wherever you encounter them, and drive them out from where they drove you out…If they do fight you, kill them-this is what such disbelievers deserve (2:191).

If they turn [on you], then seize and kill them wherever you encounter them. Take none as an ally or supporter (4:89).

Your Lord revealed to the angels: “I am with you; give the believers firmness; I shall put fear into the hearts of the disbelievers-strike above their necks and strike all their fingers” (8:12).

Muslims claim that it’s unfair to take these verses out of context. Besides, they point out, the Bible is just as violent. Take the commandment in I Samuel 15:3 where God commands King Saul to slay the Amalekites: “Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.” For that matter, the words of Jesus could be taken out of context. He says, “I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.”

AS I SEE IT
While there certainly is violence in the Old Testament, we must understand thatchild sacrifice God’s purpose was to eliminate all the horrible and detestable practices of the heathen groups that inhabited Canaan. By the time the Children of Israel were entering the Promised Land, the inhabitants of the land had been given 400 years (from the time Abraham came through) to repent of their atrocities (such as sacrificing their children to their gods to ensure better crops). God had offered mercy, but they refused to listen.

And the Scripture, forseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying “All the nations shall be blessed in you” (Gal. 2:8).

AmalekitesI believe that Abraham preached to the inhabitants of Canaan the same gospel that God had taught him, but they rejected it. (See Heb. 11:26 where Moses also knew of the coming Christ.) God did not capriciously decide to wipe out a bunch of innocent people. He was destroying wickedness so it would not infect His people whom He desired to be holy and pure. He had offered mercy, but the inhabitants rejected it. The only remedy was to remove the “cancer” from the land. The same principle applied to the Amalekites.

On the other hand, those whom Allah commanded to be slain were not guilty of any barbaric practices. They simply refused to accept Allah as their god and Mohammed as his prophet. Regarding Jesus’ statement regarding peace and a sword, the context indicates that He was warning His followers that they would face some difficult situations which would result in some decisions that friends and family members wouldn’t like. Divisions and conflict would result. This is the “sword” Jesus talked about.

The difference between the beliefs of the “people of the book” (Christians and Jews)sword and the beliefs of Muslims can be seen by their current actions. The only people who regularly wield the sword are Muslims. The only people who wipe out entire villages are Muslims. The only people who behead those who refuse to follow them are Muslims. Christians, on the other hand are commanded to love their enemies, not kill them. In light of these facts, it’s hard to see how anyone could be accused of taking the previous verses from the Qur’an out of context.

Those Muslims who are labeled as “moderate” are simply not taking their religion seriously. They are enjoying the benefits of being a part of a powerful group and culture. Those “moderates” living in America are also reaping the benefits of the special treatment our President is affording them. Some day, however, these “moderates” will be forced to decide whose side they are really on.

Anyone who insists on portraying Islam as a religion of peace is either clueless or complicit-clueless regarding the clearly stated goals of representative groups like the Muslim Brotherhood or complicit in the strategy to brainwash those who haven’t bothered to do a little research or study a little history.

obama pathological-liarConsider why any U.S. president who knows better would continue to ignore and play down all the horrific things (like beheadings) we’ve witnessed lately. The only logical conclusion is that he is committed to protecting Islam over protecting Americans, which he swore to do when taking the oath of office. Any protector of Islam is no stranger to the Islamic command to lie when necessary to conceal your true motives. Once you get away with it the first time, it becomes easier the second time. Eventually, you start believing your own lies because they have become apart of you. You can publicly separate the radicals from the moderates with a straight face and without breaking a sweat.

The barbaric acts of ISIS are coming to America and by his words and actions, our President had proven that he will do little to stop it. Will we wake up before it’s too late?
