Israeli School Bus Attacked
The Jerusalem Prayer Team reports: A weapon launched from Hamas controlled

Bus Bombing

Gaza struck an Israeli school bus this afternoon seriously injuring several people, including the driver and a 13-year-old boy. The bus carrying children home from middle school had already dropped off most of the 50 passengers when the attack was made.

It was not immediately clear whether it was a mortar shell or an anti-tank missile that was used in the attack against the bus. The 13-year-old student reportedly has serious head injuries, and medics were struggling to save his life. This is just the latest in a string of outrageous attacks against Jewish civilian targets that have been launched in recent weeks as Hamas has stepped up its attacks against Israel.

The Israel Project reports: There are several points to make about this attack: the target was a yellow bus, internationally known as a symbol of a vehicle used specifically to carry children. And the terrorists must have seen their target because the range of an anti-tank weapon is relatively short. We should recall that the Hamas Charter calls for the destruction of Israel and urges followers to kill Jews whenever possible.

Israel Maps Lebanon’s Weaponry
The Israel Project reports: With Syria’s help, Iran-backed Hezbollah has created a network of 1,000 facilities and amassed more than 40,000 weapons in villages across southern Lebanon during the last five years, according to a map Israel released Thursday (March 31). Many of the sites – including bunkers and storage houses – are situated near hospitals, homes and schools. The Hezbollah sites include 550 bunkers, 300 monitoring sites and 100 weapons storage units, according to a communiqué by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The stockpiled weapons – three times the number Hezbollah had when it launched an unprovoked attack on Israel in July 2006 – include missiles that can reach as far as Tel Aviv.

A Democratic Egypt?
Is the dream of democracy turning into a nightmare of radical Islam for the hopeful in Egypt? The vision seems remote especially now that religion has surfaced as a strong political contender for the minds of the people. The initial protests were based on a call for a democratic Egypt. Young, schooled, idealistic men and women were the first to drive the demonstrations calling for democracy. Now the Muslim Brotherhood has emerged, with the blessing of President Barack Obama, as a partner in whatever government the military decides is best for the country. Many in Egypt’s political circles deny any direct participation by the Muslim Brotherhood. However, the organization, while dormant to the naked eye, has worked behind the scenes to position itself for an eventual takeover. If that happens, Egypt will not experience hoped-for democracy but will be added to the list of caliphate-ready Islamic nations.

It now appears that the Brotherhood has managed to join itself to the military that once maligned it and its leaders. Television producer Amr Koura expressed the feelings of many: “We are all worried. The young people have no control of the revolution anymore. It was evident in the last few weeks when you saw a lot of bearded people taking charge. The youth are gone.” During the initial protests, the Brotherhood refrained from any involvement. It was only after the hard work had been done and Egyptians hungry for democracy had died that the Brotherhood began to make its presence known.
