When Christ returns, the Lord’s Prayers is finally answered.

The Church is with Him

From the moment the Church is raptured, believers will be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:17). The Second Coming is no exception. We will be with Him as He manifests Himself to the world. We will be with Him as He saves the remnant of Israel, fulfilling His promises from thousands of years prior. We will be with Him as He brings justice to His enemies through what we call the Battle of Armageddon. (More on this next week.) We will share in His glory and His victory. We get to share in every part of His Second Coming as well as His rule over the earth for a thousand years. Let that sink in.

The “Lord’s Prayer” is Answered

This is not the Day of Judgment when, at the Great White Throne, eternal destinies are revealed. This judgment takes place after the 1000-year Millennial Kingdom. The Great Day of Wrath is a distinctly different event that takes place as soon as Christ returns before the Millennial Kingdom begins. Its purpose is to rid the earth of its evil before the Millennial Kingdom begins. This will be the time when God answers the prayers of all His saints through the ages for the coming of His Kingdom on earth when His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Everything will finally be subject to Jesus, the King of Kings. He will rule the earth with a rod of iron.

Israel Sees Him

Just before Jesus’ feet touch the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4-5), He will make Himself visible to Israel in all His glory, and just in time. The nations of the earth have invaded and attacked Jerusalem. Half of the Jews are taken captive while the remnant is spared. The Lord Himself will fight against these nations that are powerless before Him. In God’s mercy, He will open to the remnant (of Israel) a fountain for sin and uncleanness (Zech. 13:1) and they will cry, “Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him (Isaiah 25:9). It is at this time that a nation shall be born in a day—believing Israel. Israel, like Thomas, must see before they believe, but they will finally see. Jehovah-God had opened their eyes to see that Jesus of Nazareth was and is their Messiah..

The Tribes of the Earth will Mourn

Then, according to Revelation 1:7, all the tribes of the earth will mourn as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. This will be the great manifested coming of Revelation 19:11-16. At the Rapture, believers will see Jesus as He is and shall become like Him (1 John 3:2). At His Second Coming, unbelievers will see Him and be terrified. Their mourning will be because all they had sought after and accumulated will suddenly become meaningless. In their terror, they hide in caves of the rocks and into holes of the earth (Isaiah 2:19).

As prophesied, the Day of the Lord has come upon them “as a thief,” suddenly “as a snare” (1 Thess. 5:2; Luke 21: 34-35). That day will mark the death knell of all the evil we see around us as the perpetrators of abortion, human trafficking, sexual perversions, doctrines promoting hatred along with all the God-haters suddenly realize that their sins have caught up to them. Their judgment has come with great fury. All of God’s stored up anger is poured out on them as Jesus brings the promised judgment they had ignored and ridiculed in arrogant defiance.

Next week we’ll focus on the warfare surrounding Armageddon.
