Victory through Obedience
This week’s news reveals that we’ve got more than simply “interesting” events occurring around the world. We are seeing worldwide warfare and strategic moves. Russia is positioning itself to gain
a foothold in Syria and Libya. ISIS is moving closer to Israel on two fronts, Syria and the Sinai Peninsula. Six blue states are suing the administration over the latest travel ban. Iran is giving Hezbollah advanced rocket technology to be used against Israel.
Slavery by Muslims is expanding throughout the world. Transgender abominations are popping up everywhere. More Conservative and Christian groups are being targeted, and Obama and his goon squad have unleashed an all-out assault on the Trump administration.
The “Deep State” is very real, and so far, has been very effective. Left-overs from the Obama administration are leaking information, and reporting back to their boss (Obama) everything that the Trump administration is planning. How else do you think all the protesters showed up so fast with their signs as soon as Trump’s first travel ban was put in place? The war is on, and the media will do everything they can to hide the behind the scenes warfare so the left can regain power.
If anyone thought Trump’s victory would silence the opposition, such thoughts have vanished. Worldwide, violence is escalating. Israel is bracing itself for the attacks it knows are coming. Here in the U.S., we are caught up in the skirmishes and are, for the most part, oblivious to the mounting dangers within and at our borders.
What we’re witnessing and experiencing on the world and national stages is a larger version of what is happening within each of our private little worlds. Satan is waging warfare wherever he can gain a foothold. His biggest obstacle to achieving victory is the Church and its members. Where we have planted our feet is holy ground, and we are to “occupy,” giving no ground whatsoever.
Since we are not unaware of Satan’s schemes, we should know what to expect, since he always attacks at our weakest point. Therefore, we must know what that is and take steps to strengthen it. We must identify where we usually fail. We must swallow our pride and admit that we have a problem or a weakness in a certain area. If we’re not sure of our weak spot, I’m sure the Holy Spirit will be pleased to highlight it for us if we ask Him to.
Once we have bolstered our defenses, we should analyze our level of obedience. No army will succeed if it fails to carry out its mission, and every soldier must carry out his orders. Our obedience in
carrying out what God has already commanded us will determine if we can be trusted with a larger task. It will also reveal our love for our Lord, for if we truly love Him, we will obey him…in everything.
Our job as soldiers is not to plan, scheme or to develop a strategy for defeating our enemy. That victory has already been won. Our job is simply to obey, following our orders one day at a time.
The outcome of the war on the world stage is predetermined. We’re simply watching the action in the field. The only victory our Lord wants for us has already been won. He wants us to live out that victory every day of our lives, expressing our love for Him through our obedience. To God be the glory!

Nine Members of Trump’s Cabinet Identify as devout Christians. President-elect Donald Trump has now appointed nine members to the White House, each of whom professes publicly to be a Christian. Is this a huge answer to prayer?
“For many years, we have prayed that God would raise up men and women of God to positions of leadership and influence in our country. However, since the end of the George W. Bush administration, there have been previous few answers to that prayer,” writes author and pastor David Murray. “Who would have thought that Donald Trump might be the answer to that prayer?”
At the heart of these appointments is Vice-President Mike Pence who has previously said, “My Christian faith is at the heart of who I am” and “I’m a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order.” Then there is Chief of Staff Reince Preibus, who has previously tweeted “Christ’s sacrificial work provides an example for us all, and we join with the Psalmist in saying ‘You make known to me the path of life.'”
Then we’ve got Attorney General Jeff Sessions (who is Sunday school teacher at his family’s church) and Housing and Urban Development’s Dr. Ben Carson, who believes that God spoke clearly to him that Trump would be president.
Further to this, there is Education’s Betsy DeVos, a Christian committed to bringing God’s ‘Kingdom’ through schooling. Then we have newly-announced Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, EPA’s Scott Pruitt, CIA’s Mike Pompeo (whose family attends Eastminster Presbyterian Church), and Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley. They are all Christians!
