Part 5 in our series reveals more Catholic teaching that contradicts Scripture and keeps its followers out of heaven

Examining Catholicism
Part 5:

More False Teaching

Baptism

Today we’ll examine more ways that Roman Catholicism (RC) contradicts the Bible’s clear teaching. We’ll start with baptism. RC teaches that the Holy Spirit is received at baptism (water). Since the RC Church baptizes infants, how can these infants who know nothing about “Believing in Jesus” or obeying, receive the Holy Spirit in light of these verses:

And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32).

And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water!. What prevents me from being baptized?” And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God” (Acts 8:36-37).

“If God therefore gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” (Acts 11:17)

In addition, John 14:16-17 states that the world cannot receive the Holy Spirit, but believers can. Once again, how can an infant be a believer? Ephesians 1:13-14 says that the Holy Spirit is given as a seal to believers guaranteeing the security of their salvation. Since salvation is by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), how can an infant receive the Holy Spirit if not a believer?

The Mass

According to the RC Catechism of Christian doctrine:

The Holy Mass is one and the same sacrifice with that of the cross, inasmuch as Christ, who offered Himself a bleeding victim on the cross to His Heavenly Father,     continues to offer Himself in an unbloody manner on the altar, through the ministry of the priests.

How can this idea of a continuing sacrifice be reconciled with Hebrews 10:10-11 and other Scriptures (1 Peter 3:18) which state that Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension completed all the requirements for our salvation “Once for All”?

The Cup and the Bread

When Jesus had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves. When He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it it and said, “This is my body which is given for you; do so in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:17-19). Yet, the priest says, “Solemnizing and communicating in the first place the remembrance of the glorious Mary, ever virgin.” Mary once again replaces Jesus as the source of salvation’s blessings, calling her an eternal virgin which, as we have seen in previous articles, contradicts Scripture which names her sons (Jesus’ brothers).

Jesus gave the disciples what the Bible calls bread, and wine. When He said of the bread, “This is my body,” He was using an illustration as He did when He said, “I am the door” (John 10:9). The bread represented His body which had been “broken” for them on the cross. The Catholic Church teaches that the priest’s words of consecration actually change the host (bread) into Christ’s body (transubstantiation). In like manner, the wine is supposedly changed into Christ’s blood. Think about what this means. Would Jesus promote cannibalism and violate a very clear command against drinking blood as specified in Leviticus 17:10 and Acts 15:20?

Calvary Reenacted

The mass of the RC Church is a continuation of the sacrifice Christ made on Calvary. He is re-crucified over and over again at every mass, making His sacrifice 2000 years ago no better that the sacrifices of bulls and goats during in Old Testament times. Despite the fact that all these animal sacrifices which only covered sins pointed to the Lamb of God- the sinless and perfect sacrifice Who would bring the whole sacrificial system to an end. He actually became sin (2 Cor. 5:21), so that when He died, sin’s power over those who would believe in Jesus was taken out of the way (Col. 2:14). With our sins no longer separating us from God (Isaiah 59:2), we can now draw near to Go (Heb.7:18-19).

God is all about restoration, and He has already done, through Christ, everything that need to be done to restore sinful mankind to Himself. By its unbiblical teaching, the Roman Catholic Church prevents its members from ever entering into this sweet intimate fellowship God desires. Instead, every week they go through the same dead rituals that bring them no closer to God, accomplish nothing, and guarantee a place in hell for all who blindly follow like lambs to the slaughter.

If you are a Catholic and have felt that something’s not quite right, I’d love to hear from you and help you find your way to God. It’s actually quite simple and very freeing. You may also want to check out Proclaimingthegospel.org. It is a great ministry to Catholics. Satan is a master at deception, and he has deceived millions through the RC Church. Add in the lack of discernment these days and it’s easy to see why he is using the RC Church and Pope Francis to prepare the way for the Antichrist.  I do what I do to keep my readers from being deceived any longer. The real thing will never disappoint.
