A followup article to my previous post, The Real Jihad

In a previous article we looked at the “Real Jihad.” We learned that jihad in the Middle East means something quite different from the meaning peddled to us here in the West. Today, I’d like to look at the purpose of jihad. I have identified what appear to be the five primary reasons for engaging in jihad.

  1. Rid the world of unbelievers

In spite of the insistence that Islam is a religion of peace and that its adherents desire to live in harmony with other religions, the Qur’an presents a clear mandate for Muslims to destroy all those who do not believe in or follow Allah. The following suras (verses) are representative of many that represent on of the primary purposes of jihad:

Sura 9:29: Fight those who don’t believe in Allah etc.

Sura 4:89: They (unbelievers) wish that you would reject the faith as they do, so seize them and slay them wherever you find them.

  1. Spread Islam

The ultimate goal of Islamists is to make Islam the dominant world religion. While the world’s “unbelievers” are being eliminated, those remaining are presented with a few clear options. All those who are not Jews or Christians must become Muslims or prepare for battle. Males will be killed. Women & children will be divided up among Mohammed’s warriors.

Since Jews and Christians are considered “people of the book, they are given a third option not available to the others. They can become “dhimmis,” (servants and second-class citizens) who must pay a protection tax (jizya). They cannot vote, own land or property, or participate in government.

Regarding the spread of Islam, Anjim Chaudhry, the Muslim leader of London’s most violent & radical party said, “I don’t believe in freedom, free speech or democracy. These are idols that must be destroyed.”

  1. Test the True followers of Allah

According to the Qur’an, the true followers of Allah are those who engage in jihad

Sura 3:179: Allah will distinguish the wicked from the good.

Sura 3:142: You think you will enter heaven while Allah has not yet tested those among you who will strive hard and fight.

Sura 9:20 Those who believe and suffer exile and strive with might and main in Allah’s cause with their goods and with their persons have the highest rank in the sight of Allah. They are the people who will achieve salvation.

Sura 47:4: (the “strike off their heads” verse) If it had been Allah’s will, he himself could have punished them without you, but he lets you fight in order to test some of you with others.

How Allah separates the sheep from the goats: those who engage in jihad

  1. Obtain Booty

Shortly after Mohammed left Mecca for Medina, he attacked wealthy caravans simply for the booty in order to pay his followers. For them, it was a “quick money scheme.” If things didn’t go as planned, it was still a win-win situation. When you go into battle, if you win, you get rich. If you die, you go to paradise. Such a deal!

Sura 48:20: Allah has promised you abundant spoils, and he has hastened you for this (Allah rewards you for your efforts with the spoils.

Mohammed always kept 1/5 of the booty for himself.)

  1. Assure a Place in Paradise

In Islam, dying as a martyr while engaged in jihad is the only guarantee of entering paradise.

Sura 3:169-171: Rejoice over those who have died in jihad for they are alive, enjoying the great pleasures of Allah (paraphrase).

This is why Islam spread so rapidly for the first 100 years after Mohammed’s death. His followers had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

All these purposes of jihad as described and commanded in the Qur’an prove that jihad has nothing to do with an inner striving to please Allah. It’s all about warfare to spread Islam. Most Americans have never bothered to investigate the truth of Islam. They are content to believe what Muslims say and to go along with their liberal friends whose dedication to political correctness prevents them from even considering that things may not be as they seem.

The fact that so-called “moderate Muslims” push the same lie regarding the meaning of jihad should cause you to question their sincerity when it comes to explaining their religion.
