SETTING OUR MINDS ON THINGS ABOVE

The Injustice of Social Justice

Over the past few months, we have been looking at how Christ will purge and build His Church. Today we begin an extended series in which we will examine what I believe is the primary arena in which this will happen. We have been set up for this by the Covid-19 pandemic. We have already seen divisions within the Church over vaccinations, masks, and lockdowns. Some have gone so far as to refuse to associate with anyone who doesn’t share their views. Fear and distrust have partnered to perfectly set up the Church for the grand finale—the Social Justice phenomenon.

Don’t be Taken Captive

Some big names in evangelical Christendom have been seduced by deceptive arguments into a movement that offers no solutions, only blame and guilt. In his letter to the church at Colossae, Paul warned against being taken captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition and the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ (2:8). This is exactly what social just warriors are all about, and we must understand what is really going on and how deadly their arguments are. We must see through the lies and not give in to their guilt trips over our supposed culpability.

Black Lives Matter

Since Black Lives Matter (the organization) lies at the heart of the Woke movement, a few facts about its three founders reveal the blatant deception of the group as well as their true intentions. These three black women are proud of their Marxist training, their participation in the Black Liberation movement, their practice of witchcraft, and their hatred for Christianity, the biblical family, and the use of the word “father.” All, three are lesbians who were bothered by the fact that “Black Liberation movements in this country have created room and space and leadership mostly for Black heterosexual, cisgender men, leaving women, who are often queer or transgender, either out of the movement or in the background to move the work forward with little or no recognition.”

They “recognized a need to center the leadership of women,” particularly queer or transgender women. “Among our movement mentors,” says Patrisse Cullors, “were queer and trans people whose labor had been erased and replaced with an uncontested narrative of male leadership.” Before being removed, the following statement appeared on the “What We Believe” page on the BLM website:

We foster a queer-affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking (meaning biblical Christianity).

In fact, BLM was founded on a lie. It began as a response to the acquittal of George Zimmerman, the “white” man (he was only part white and mostly Afro-Peruvian) who killed black Florida teen Trayvon Martin in 2012. The jury found that Zimmerman acted in self-defense. Those facts made no difference to BLM. The following year, the group took off with another protest after the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

The popular narrative that spread like wildfire was based solely on now-discredited lies (“Hands up. Don’t shoot!”). Yet, BLM contended that these events warranted “an ideological and political intervention in a world where Black lives are systematically and intentionally targeted for demise.”

Reality Check

According to Federal Bureau of Justice Statistics, in interracial violence involving blacks and whites, white perpetrators account for 15% of the cases while black perpetrators account for 85%. Also, a police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black assailant than an unarmed black man is to be killed by a cop. Recent Gallup polls indicated that 81% of black Americans want police to spend the same amount or more time in their areas as before protests broke out in 2020.Yet, BLM claims to represent the Black community when chanting, “Defund the Police.”

Today’s post is meant to open your eyes to the very real war being waged against not only white people, but biblical truth and values as well. In future posts we will examine the truth behind the movement, how Satan is using it to destroy the Church and how Christ will use it to purge and build His Church.
