Now that the much hyped Blood Moon sequence has passed, now what?
IT’S WORTH CONSIDERING
In a previous article, I described the Blood Mood theory that has had so many people talking. Books have been written and a handful of folks have become famous for their research and conclusions. The much publicized “tetrad” of 2014-2015 has seen three of the four blood moons appear without any accompanying spectacular events.
Last night was the final and most discussed event. It corresponded to the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. The timing was said to be most unique (as I explained in the article). Well, it has come and gone and nothing noteworthy has happened…yet. Does it mean that nothing will happen? We don’t know, but the hype about the exact date led us to believe that if the claims were correct, something spectacular would happen during the “super blood moon” last night (Sept. 28, 2015). Did something amazing happen that we don’t know about yet? Time will tell.
Does this mean that we can all breathe a big sigh of relief that we made it through the infamous tetrad? Yes and no. Yes, all the hype seems to have gone up in smoke, but no, we’re certainly not out of the woods. There’s always the chance that last night’s lunar display was a sign of things to come, possibly in the near future, and even if the whole theory was misguided, we know from biblical prophecy that some difficult days lay ahead.
AS I SEE IT
Most of the criticism of the theory focuses on what the critics see as the “reckless” interpretation of what the Bible means when it says that the moon will be turned into blood as in Joel 2:31:
The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.
Note that this verse also says that the sun will be turned into darkness. The final blood moon occurred last night and the sun is shining this morning. The previous verse talks also about fire and columns of smoke. This all seems to suggest that when the time comes, God will display wonders in the sky with all sorts of nightmarish things going on, like the sun actually being darkened and the moon actually turning into blood. We’re clearly not there…yet.
So, where does this leave us? Many financial gurus who have little or no knowledge of (or interest in) Scripture have predicted a major collapse sometime in September. We’ve got one day left, but so far so good. Others have suggested that the culmination of the Jade Helm military exercises on Sept. 15 would bring some sort of event leading to martial law. That hasn’t happened…yet.
I guess our lesson is to always be alert, paying attention to what the enemy is doing and comparing it to what God has clearly said. Timing is always a tricky thing to predict, but we are to understand the times and be prepared for whatever is coming, whenever that may be.
